Rare 1943 Budapest edition of a remarkable ethnographic map originally created in Japan by Turanian activist Kitagawa Shikazo. The map illustrates the Pan-Turanian theory that Hungarians, Japanese, Finns, and several Central Asian peoples shared common ancestral origins. Printed by the Royal Hungarian Military Cartographic InstitutFeaturing colorful ethnic divisions across Eurasia with English and Japanese place names, the map is both visually striking and historically significant. The map is rare, in only four institutions copy found (Oxford University, the University of Southern Maine, the National Diet Library, and Harvard University.).
