Scarce accounts of travels on Caucasus and Crimea.

The author was a Hungarian who served in the Prussian army during the Napoleonic Wars and then with the French. In 1829 he travelled to the Caucasus in search of the Magyars. Then he continued his journey through the Crimea to study the Tartars and crossed the Black Sea to Trebizond Erzurum Tbilisi Constantinople and Trieste. -

The famous geographer, Alexander von Humboldt - whom he met in Paris - also played a role in the financing of his scientific expedition, who also took part in the trip.
