Title in ink on spine. New paste downs. Title page printed in red and black. Woodcut illustration (tinted), initial, and device on title page. Woodcut initials throughout. Old collection stamp on b4v. Paper tanned, water stained. Occasional notes in ink by a near contemporary hand. Overall in very good condition.

A scarce and early Lyonese-edition of this medieval bestseller.

The second edition of the Gesta in Lyon, the first by Jean de La Place. USTC lists only 2 copies (with Simon Vincent as co-publisher) in institutional holdings in France and Spain (Bibliothèque municipale Beaune; Universitat de Barcelona). Nice gothic typography, with numerous woodcut initials. USTC 155578.
