Published with a short preface by Walter Gropius and a foreword by László Moholy-Nagy in Hungarian and German. Illustrated, besides the reproductions of Molnár’s plans, drawings, and paintings, photographs by Károly Escher, Ferenc Haar, and József Pécsi. The text is a compilation of extracts of Molnár’s articles written for the Hungarian modernist architectural review, Tér és Forma.
In 1921, after his unfinished architectural studies in Budapest, Molnár (1897–1945) became a member of the Bauhaus University, where he studied under Johannes Itten and Walter Gropius. He was active as an architect in Hungary after 1925 and became the founder, with Marcel Breuer, of the Hungarian section of CIAM (International Congress of Modern Architecture).
