[Paris?]: “Le Matin”; Éd. Crété (Corbeil), [1901?]. Illustrated with several photographic reproductions, printed in various colors. First edition. Signed by Paul Gers on the first blank leaf. A unique, luxuriously bound copy for Franz Joseph I, in full red morocco with gilt-ruled panels. The dedication in French is lettered in gilt on the front panel, with the title and ornamentation also in gilt on the spine. [9] 2–298 [2] p. The binding shows slight rubbing at the extremities and has bumped corners. There is a dark stain on the front panel at the lower left corner and on the spine at the tail. Overall, in very good condition, with slight wear and a small stain on the binding.

A special copy presented to Franz Joseph I, as King of Hungary.

In a unique morocco binding crafted for Franz Joseph I. The front panel is gilt-lettered with the inscription: “A S. M. François Joseph I Roi de Hongrie Hommage très respectueux des auteurs.” The book contains a series of richly illustrated essays on the forty-one countries that participated in the Exposition Universelle of 1900 in Paris.
