Scarce contemporary report on the Battle of the Dardanelles, 1655. The Battle of the Dardanelles, on 21 June 1655, was an act of the Cretan War, the fifth Ottoman–Venetian war, that took place at the Dardanelles, the Strait of Gallipoli and ended with the victory of Venice. An extremely scarce 17th-century Relacion, IB (121600) lists only 4 surviving copies, each in Mardid at the Biblioteca Nacional de España.
