Early and scarce paper from Imre Hermann (1889–1984) the Hungarian psychoanalyst, renowned for his contributions to the Freudian theory of attachment. Hermann was the President of the Hungarian Psychoanalytical Association from 1945 until 1949 when the Association was banned by the Communist Party. He remained the chief of the underground psychoanalytic training, and he is responsible for the survival of psychoanalysis in Hungary.

“Über formale Wahltendenzen” is one of Herman’s earliest studies. We could not trace any copies in institutional holdings of this edition.
