Paris: 1836. Bem thanks to the Polish refugees for the job opportunities. Bem took part in the November uprising in Poland in 1830-1831. At the beginning of 1831 he was a major, two months later a general. Its name has also become internationally known. After the fall of the war of independence against the Russians, 50,000 people fled Poland as part of the great emigration (Wielka Emigracja). About 5,000 of them went to France and other Western European countries. He himself emigrated to Paris. Letter written on one side. 25.5 × 20.4 cm.
