The publisher of this scarce booklet is the “Bund”, the General Union of Jewish Workers in Lithuania, Poland and Russia (Algemeyner Yidisher Arbeter Bund in Lite, Poyln, un Rusland), which was found in 1897 by a group of secular, Marxist Jews in Vilna with the aim to unite the Eastern European Jewish workers into a socialist party and to attract them to the Russian revolutionary movement.

The pamphlet contains three essays on demonstrations and armed resistance in general, and organizing demonstrations on May-Day. These articles were originally published in “Arbeiterstimme” the major newspaper of the Bund.
