An early post-Holocaust publication, a photo-book showing the horror of the Austrian concentration camp, Mauthausen-Gusen.
The photos besides recording the horror of life and death in the Mauthausen, showing the camp facilities, also town Mauthausen and the surroundings, but most of them are shocking images of the prisoners murdered by the Nazis.
The typographical layout is created by Zdenek Rossmann (1905–1984), the Czech Bauhausler, avant-garde photographer and graphic designer and the publication was edited by the Members of the Committee of the Illegal Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in Mauthausen (Clenové illegálniho vyboru KSC v Mauthausenu).
