Budapest: Kodak, Limited Budapesti Fiókja, 1929. First edition. 6 brochures, complete season. In publisher’s photographically illustrated wrappers. Each issue: 15, (1) p. With double advertisement vignettes on the front cover (removed from one issue). Slightly rubbed. Overall in fine condition.

“A müterem” was an informative magazine and advertisement brochure of Eastman Kodak Company, for professional photographers, published in Hungary between 1927 and 1930. Each number was illustrated with reproductions of photographs by the leading Hungarian photographers or studios such as József Pécsi or Révész-Biró, and its textual content was also created by them dealing with new technics, materials or equipment. The remaining pages were used by Kodak as advertisements for their products.

Révész-Biró was a leading advertisement photographer in Hungary.

József Pécsi (1889–1956) was a Hungarian photographer, known for his influential book “Photo und Publizität” (Photography and Publicity; 1930) wherein, by his own advertisement designs, promoted the blending of typography, design, and photography in avant-garde advertising.
