Peretz Hirschbein (1880–1948) was a Russian-born (Grodno Governorate) Yiddish-language playwright, writer, and theatre director who settled down in New York in the mid 1910s.

His books “A mayse mit a kamilyon” was published by Farlag Matones, a publisher of children's books which eventually became a leading publisher of Yiddish literature in the US.
