Scarce book on chiromancy. Contains 153 woodcut illustrations of palms, showing different shapes of hands, and various palm-lines. Nicolaus Pompeius (1591–1659) was a professor of mathematics, physiognomist and astrologer. This book is based on his lectures on chiromancy that he gave in 1653 at the University of Wittenberg. With "Biblioteka Komendoriy Sitkowieckey" label inside, stamp of “Biblioteka Peczarska” on title page and stamp of the Potocki family on last page with the family coat of arms and motto “Scutum opponebat scuto” (Shield opposing shield).
