József Rippl-Rónai (1861–1927) was a Hungarian painter, member of “Les Nabis”. Strongly influenced by Maurice Denis, close friend of James Pitcairn-Knowles with who he worked together on the illustrations of George Rodenbach’s “Les Vierges” and “Les Tombeaux”.
