Lajos Kozma’s Art Nouveau illustrations for Béla Révész’s short stories.
The first volume contains short stories by Béla Révész, while the second volume consists of 30 full-page, black and white Art-Nouveau illustrations by Lajos Kozma (1884–1948), a Hungarian graphic artist, designer and architect, who was strongly influenced by Koloman Moser, Carl Otto Czeschka and Gustav Klimt. During his years at university, Kozma joined the group “Fiatalok” (Youth), a circle of architects who studied the Hungarian folklore and combined its motives and ornaments with the characteristics of Art Nouveau and the style of the Wiener Werkstätte.
This publication is one of the finest examples of this special, Hungarian-Art Nouveau style.
