Almos Jaschik was a student at the School of Design, and in 1907 he graduated as a draw ing teacher. In 1908 he made a study trip to France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. From 1906 he was a teacher at the Budapest School of Industrial Design, head of the bookbinding and leatherwork department, but in 1920 he had to leave the institution. At that time, at the request of his students, he opened a private school specializing mainly in graphic design, which operated until 1950. During his teaching, he developed a theory of the spiritual origin of ornament and published on art pedagogical issues. His stage work began in the 1920s, and from 1935 he was a costume designer at the National Theater.
