The cover features El Lissitsky’s publisher’s device at the bottom featuring the priestly hands, and at the top another device by Ben-Zion Tsukherman featuring a bird and floral motifs.

Kalmen Zingman (1889–1929) was a Yiddish author and one of the most prolific Yiddish publishers in pre-1922 Berlin. He published literary criticism, and Expressionist poetry and political newspapers.
