Egon Erwin Kisch (1885–1948) was born in Prague and wrote in German. He referred to himself as Der Rasende Reporter (The Raging Reporter). Kisch was known for his reportage journalism, and his opposition to Adolf Hitler’s Nazi regime. He was a member of the Prague Circle of German-speaking Jewish writers, whose members were, among others, Franz Kafka, Max Brod, and Franz Werfel.
