Munkásgyülés. 1937. szeptember 26-án, […] Tompa-utca 14 sz. alatt. [Workers' Congress. September 26, 1937. (…) at Tompa Street 14.]

[Budapest]: György Kapus (Budai-nyomda), [1937]. Original, vintage poster. Printed on green paper. Illustrated with the emblem of the Party. 475 × 315 mm. Folded. With the contemporary vignette of the Party’s archive. Small tears at foldings in the center. Another small tear at the lower edge to the right. Torn with loss near to upper right corner. Slightly discolored at edges due to aging. Otherwise in fine condition.

Original program poster of the United Hungarian National Socialist Party, a call for a workers’ congress, and the announcement of the speakers.

The poster announces the date and the place of the congress and lists the speakers, who were among the most important figures of the Hungarian Nazi movement, like Ferenc Kassai who later became the Minister of Propaganda of the Arrow Cross Party in 1944.

The word “Bárorság!” (Braveness!, or Be Brave!) is printed to the lower left corner, because the congress was held just a few days after their gathering which was attacked and smashed by young Communists on September 16, 1937, as a response to the assault happened on May Day when a member of the Communist movement was shot by the National Socialist.

The Egyesült Magyar Nemzeti Szocialista Párt (United Hungarian National Socialist Party) was one of the earliest Hungarian Nazi parties, existed from 1933 until 1940 when it merged into Ferenc Szálasi’s Arrow Cross Party. Its leader Fidél Pálffy, Ferenc Kassai and Szálasi were executed in 1946 after a trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
