Catalogue of the 1902 Rodin-exhibition in Prague.

The 1902 Prague show was the largest exhibition of Rodin's work held outside France during the sculptor’s lifetime. Rodin was invited by Alfons Mucha and one of his pupils, Josef Mařatka (Josef Maratka) after the Exposition Universelle of Paris (1900), and the exhibition was organised by the Manes Union of Fine Arts, the Bohemian artist’s association and exhibition society who by this and its later international exhibitions was responsible for the earliest interactions between the Bohemian artists and the foreign modern movements.

The first introductory text is by František Xaver Šalda (Frantisek Xaver Salda), the Czech journalist, and art critic, the second is by the Rodin influenced Czech sculptor Stanislav Sucharda, and the catalogue also contains the list of the 157 featured works including drawings.

Scarce, we could trace only three copies in institutional holdings: two in the US (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Harvard) and one in the UK (British Library).
