Isaacher Bar Ryback (1897–1935) was a Ukranian-French painter, one of the most prominent figures of the Yiddish Avant-Garde movement who worked with handing down the Jewish tradition in modern art. In the 1910s he participated in several progressive activities in Kiev and Moscow. During the October Revolution in 1917, Ryback was a member of Central Committee of the Jewish Cultural League in Kiev as a painter and instructor. He left for Germany in 1921 and stayed in Berlin until 1924. He became a member of Novembergruppe, the German expressionist group, together with Otto Dix and Georg Grosz. He exhibited his paintings both at the Juryfreien Kunstausstellung, the Berliner Secession as well as in the Buch- und Kunsfheim K. & E. Twardy.

Ryback spent the last years of his life in Paris. He had several exhibitions in Paris, and also in Cambridge, Brussels, Antwerpen, and Rotterdam.
