František Muzika (1900–1974) was a Czech painter, illustrator, typographer and a well-known figure of the Czech Avant-garde.

Karel Čapek (1890–1938) was a Czech novelist best known for his science fiction novels, and mostly for his play “R.U.R.” that introduced the word “robot”.
