First edition of Stanisław Lem’s four short stories about the voyages of Ijon Tichy.
The collection was later expanded with new stories and republished in 1966 and 1971. The English translation appeared in two volumes under the titles “The Star Diaries” and “Memoirs of a Space Traveller”.
Stanisław Lem (1921–2006), the author of Solaris, was a Polish science fiction writer, the most celebrated SF author in the Communist world.
