Watercolour painting of New York by Helena Bochorakova-Dittrichova, depicting a busy intersection with pedestrians, passing cars and billboards, as seen from her apartment window. Bochorakova-Dittrichova created her series of paintings and woodcuts, inspired by New York and other US cities after joining her husband, Vladimir Bochorak on his scholarship in the United States and the Americas in 1930.

Helena Bochorakova-Dittrichova (1894–1980) was a Czech graphic artist, influenced by Frans Masereel. She is known as the creator of the first graphic novel published by a woman.
